Dear RC-Tech support

When I was sufing in the internet to get me some infos about the TX171, I found other technical datas about it. On other shops where the TX171 is sold, they write the TX171 has 420 TV Lines. But on our homepage is written 520 TV Lines....

So I found me two options for my fpv system (Flying with Videoglasses), of course from our shop:

The TX171 camera with our 2.4 Ghz Tx/Rx set or the TX41 camera set. To this I got a few question:

- I m sure the TX/Rx set will work with the TX171... will it?

- Whats the diffrents between the TX171 and the TX41? Because it seems that the TX171 is the better camera with better resolution, better FOV, its lighter and a bit smaller... so what makes the TX41 more expensive. Whats the advantage of TX41?

- I m planning to use the FPV system on small modellplanes, like wingspan 600mm - 800mm, and weights not over 200g. With your expirience, what would u recommend? Because I saw the MPX Fox with the TX41. Is there a problem to use the TX171 on the MPX Fox or other small planes?

- In small planes i dont want to add more weight with a camera accu. So I plan to use my 1200mAh 11.1V for the motor, servos (BEC), Receiver (BEC), the camera TX171 (11.1V) and the TX (11.1V), but having in mind not to dry out the accu. Whats the solution in the FOX? Does it have two accus, or just one? I can imagen, that having two accus is of course a better system because of the security. Or are there other things why I shouldnt use one accu for all?

Thanks again for ur support!

Gruess Mike

Hi,

- Indeed, the resolution for the KX171 (not TX171) was a typo, sorry for that.

- Of course the TX-RX will work with that camera.

- The TX41, like all TX series, are 100% ready to use, preassembled systems with integrated transmitter. The KX171 is a camera alone, so if you get it you need to add the price of the TX-RX, and do the wiring to power all elements with the right voltage yourself. We also find the TX41's camera to have a better overall image quality.

- The KX171 + TX will work on small planes too, we just prefer the tidyness of having the camera and TX integrated. Besides, we power the Fox with a 7.4V battery, which is just fine with the TX40, but as the KX171 needs 12V this would mean we'd need a 2nd battery.

- It's better to have 2 batteries indeed. Firstly as you say when the battery gets empty you might lose video (happens with the Fox and its small battery). On the Fox I'm careful to use a timer on the radio and land before the battery is empty, keeping about 1 min of margin. Secondly, depending on your equipment (motor, speed controller, servos), if you use only one battery you risk getting visible interference lines on the video either when the motor is running or you move the servos. That's different with every equipment combination, so you need to try with your gear to see if it happens. It's more likely to happen with 12V video equipment as the camera gets unregulated voltage from the battery.

3s/1200mAh for a 200gr plane seems huge! That's already about 110gr just for the battery... At this weight you'd rather be around 500mAh or so. The Fox at 130gr flies 8 mins on 2s/360mAh...
